If the NSA was able to break RSA, there's about a .1% chance they'd tell people about it.


If the NSA broke RSA, they'd know that it was only a short matter of time before other intelligence agencies did the same, so it would be pretty stupid of them to not hint to industry that they should upgrade their algorithms.

While the NSA wants communications to be vulnerable to them, they certainly don't want communications to be vulnerable to others.
