Backbone's opinion-less approach has been so great for our startup, even if it took me a solid 3 months before I really understood why it was so great. Seriously, coming from working on super-opinionated backend frameworks meant a lot of unlearning when I started using Backbone in October of 2011. Keep up the awesome work!
I picked up Backbone a couple of years ago (around 0.6). It is balanced at the perfect level of abstraction for me. There have been a ton of frameworks coming up over the last few years but none of them beat Backbone for me.
