I certainly hope so.

Dang, you beat me to the first comment! XD With regards to hoping Twitter dies: same.

Yes it is.

They are thinking critically that the 25% of Twitter accounts are posting 97% of the tweets on the platform and the top Twitter accounts with the highest followers don’t even post frequently either and are highly likely to be followed by bot accounts. [0]

And the majority of users visiting the platform just lurk there rather than post content themselves on the platform.

So yes, the extended evidence in [0] satisfies the claim that the blue bird site is ‘dying’ and it is overrun by a small minority. Hence why they are forcing login walls everywhere.

How does this equate to a platform dying? I don't understand Elon's marketing analysis. I think Twitter's power is that you follow hundreds or thousands of people, some who may rarely tweet, some who tweet more often, yet your feed remains fresh and updated.

I hope it is. Other than serving as a glorified RSS feed --- and it really should have never taken on that role --- it is not suitable for the other things people use it for.

Discussion and dialogue? Use Discord or a chat application/website. Interacting with weird quirky people? Discord or Mastodon or a traditional forum. News? Google News, AP News, or anything that isn't social media. Discussions elsewhere with links to Twitter at this point are better than Twitter itself, because you get to avoid dealing with idiots and the endless onward streaming of misinformed takes.

Honestly, I actively want Twitter to go away. There are too many stupid people using it as a discussion forum rather than as a notification service, and too many people taking the inane, nuance-free, dumbed-down mudflinging on Twitter seriously, for me to like the site.
