Where can I listen to this?

Here's a sample: “To ostatnia niedziela” - Petersburski/Friedwald, as sang by Mieczysław Fogg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-hg58QQmdc

“Tango Milonga” - Petersburski/Włast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3dE8wDk-aA

Maybe it was specific for that period, in Hungary we had similar (these are from the period of wwII): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWnZrFDdIcw&list=RDNF7ekokFu...

"To ostatnia niedziela" sounded familiar - it's the tune throughout this fantastic film:

What appears to be a source:

and has link to another article on same site:

https://culture.pl/en/article/interwar-music-revivalists-the...

which has video links. I'm less certain any of them will provide a proper taste of what you seek.

This isn't a tango, but possibly interesting:

It seems there was a song called "Nikodem" recorded on that record label in 1933 [1] and also revived by a modern band [2]. (I don't know anything more about it.)

Foxtrot? My grandmother once said my grandfather insisted on attempting to waltz to every tune, no matter what the beat ... but it was OK in those times, because one rarely danced with one's own spouse.
