Tangentially related but I recently signed up for a Twitter account post Elon acquisition and the last step of the process requires you to follow one account to start using the site, the first option is Elon Musk and everything else is random based on your selected interests. Are any numbers on this site not juiced at this point?
Yeah, this is reportedly a measure they put in place after he bought the company because he was unhappy with engagement on his posts. It doesn't exclusively boost him AFAIK.
You are wrong on so many levels for stating this as though many parents are adequate moral arbiters and not often irrational, unreasonable, or overprotective about what they think is okay for their kid to do. A child is not “100% in charge of where they will go” if they have to consider the consequences of or pay a price for doing innocuous things after returning home when they know they are being monitored.
Everybody, especially kids, deserves to have some alone time and actual agency.
I don’t think it will, unfortunately, a reporter at Gematsu pressed Blow about it and he just kept repeating that it would be out for the platforms announced. The Witness never came to Switch either.
WSL2 is undoubtedly the most exciting addition with 11... and the vast majority of users do not care or even know about it. I would hardly call that a benefit worthy of a major new operating system version. That same audience also probably doesn't have the necessary hardware to even upgrade so who is this OS for?
Thanks, like I said I stopped at a certain point but maybe it’s time to start doing tens of applications daily. My soft skills could use some work but I am fortunate to have someone who can help me with that. This submission was mostly the product of the fact that my mentor was hired immediately out of school and I know they can’t really understand the path I’ve ended up on, really appreciate your comment because your right.
I’m not sure how you could’ve reached that conclusion after what I wrote but it’s valid advice nonetheless. I do all of those things and more, including tutoring other people and acting as a teaching assistant at my school, plus I wanted to do this before knowing about money or status. However, reading over my post I see that it’s painfully whin y, that time could’ve been spent better. The reality is more likely that I’m not cut out for it, or other things are holding me back and I have resolved to not think about the things written here and work harder.
I hope I did not come off harsh as much as wanting to be authentic to the people who ask for help. Right now in the industry its very polarized on how to get a job, meaning anyone can do it if they just learn the hard things they need to learn. Either you do projects that you explain well that are somewhat advanced, or you do algo problem solving. There really isn't any in between no matter what anyone tells you. if you get good at one or the other, you will eventually get a job.
The frozen items are restocked daily in the afternoons so it would be a waste of time to reorganize unless they know there’s a shortage for a specific item. Usually they do if that’s the case.
You are right. Part of the magic that drives FOSS is that everyone is willingly contributing. If a developer no longer wants to do that, they should be able to make that decision, not npm. That’s without mentioning that the fallout was a direct result of their poor decision-making up that point anyway. npm should have just laughed at kik for coming to them about an unrelated, unmalicious package like this.
If you don't want to contribute anymore you don't have to, just go and do something else - but once the code was published it's not just "yours" anymore, it belongs to the community, that's the whole idea behind OSS. You give it away to everyone and anyone to use it and fork it and un-unpublish it as much as they like...
This is (in my opinion) the problem with (most? all?) OSS licence models: What if your software or parts of your software are used against your will or intention? What if your software or parts thereof is taken by the "Big Tech", commercialized and you think this is a total perversion of the intention you had while writing this software?
The more i think about the possibilities the less i like the idea...
Yep. I bought a used copy of Yakuza 0 online once and foolishly included the name of the game in the notes of the transaction. PayPal blocked the transfer of funds for over a week.
Really? I'm not very knowledgeable about the subject but I always understood that discharging the battery was healthy. Is there somewhere I can read up on why that is?
It is healthy, but discharging to 0% isn't and keeping it at 100% isn't either.
It is best to plug in at 20% but only charge to 80%. Then every half a year you do a full charge to 100% and a full discharge to calibrate the battery management.
